Color Identifier Tool For Mac
This tool makes it easy to create, adjust, and experiment with custom colors for the web. It also makes it easy to convert between various color formats supported by CSS, including: HEXA colors, RGB (Red/Green/Blue) and HSL (Hue/Saturation/Lightness). Control over the alpha channel is also supported on RGB (rgba) and HSL (hsla) formats.
As you adjust the parameters that define the color, it gets displayed in all three standard Web CSS formats. In addition, based on the currently-selected color, a palette for HSL and HSV, as well as alpha, is generated. The 'eyedropper' style color picker box can be toggled between HSL or HSV format. You can also test colors and how they overlap one another by dragging them into the box at the bottom of the tool and moving them over one another. Adjust their relative Z index values to move them forward and behind one another.

here's a video of how to do it with Mojave, since the method listed in the article doesn't work on Mojave. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJkFhKJsYec
Thank you so much you're the boss!
Used to work. Does not work in Mojave.
This method appears to be for old Mac OS but it does not work for Mac Mojave OS. I have searched many links but no one knows how to change folder colours for Mac Mojave OS.
I cannot believe there is not an easier and less time intensive way to change folder colors.....colors!....not just hues. I want red and green and dark blue and purple. Come on Apple, you can make this happen with a right click and choose a color and ZAP.... there you have it a red folder! I wish I knew how to program, I would fix this up for everybody who wants a little variety! Thanks for listening.
Good article really helped me solve a problem...but... when I color the folder on my work machine the colours do not get to my home machine over dropbox - any ideas there?
Cheers
